Required Ingredients

  • Flour 400g (300g for the first dough, 100g for the second dough)
  • Sugar 20g
  • Yeast 4g
  • Baking Powder 7g (divided into two times)
  • Brown Sugar 90g
  • Red Dates as needed
  • Warm Water as needed

Making Process

  1. Add sugar and half of the baking powder to 300g of flour, dissolve the yeast in warm water (around 35 degrees Celsius) and pour it into the flour, knead into a smooth dough
  2. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place it in a warm place, proof for 5 hours until doubled in size
  3. Remove the red dates, cut the date meat into dicing, grind the brown sugar with a rolling pin
  4. Take out the proofed dough and knead to remove air bubbles
  5. Add the ground brown sugar to the dough and knead until it's evenly mixed into the dough
  6. Add the diced red dates and continue to knead until evenly mixed
  7. Prepare 100g of flour, add the remaining baking powder and mix well, and mix it with the dough that has already been kneaded
  8. Divide the mixed dough into evenly sized pieces and shape them into circles
  9. Draw a cross on the top of the circular dough, cover with plastic wrap, and proof again for 20 minutes
  10. Place oil paper in the steamer, put in the bun embryo
  11. Pour water into the steamer, after the water boils, put it in the steamer, steam for 25-30 minutes
  12. After the bun is steamed, turn off the fire and steam for 3 minutes, don't take it out immediately, prevent it from shrinking when it encounters cold
  13. After steaming, you can take it out
