Braised Tofu with Cured Pork Belly
La Rou Rub Ci Su
Ingredients:1 piece of cured pork belly, 1 box of North Tofu, 2 green onions, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce (30ml), 1 teaspoon of sugar (5g), 1/4 teaspoon of salt (1g), 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (3g), 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (30ml)
Instructions:
1) Place cured pork belly in a pot with cold water, boil over high heat for 10 minutes, remove and cool slightly, then slice thinly. Cut the tofu into 2cm blocks, pan-fry over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Wash and chop the green onions into segments.
2) Add a little oil to the pan and heat over high heat until 70% hot, then add green onions and stir-fry until fragrant, then add the pork belly, tofu, and season with oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper, stir-fry until combined. Add water to cover the ingredients. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and drizzle in cornstarch, stirring continuously.
