Red braised pork, with a glossy sheen, is absolutely delicious. Yellow wine replacing water results in a rich and concentrated sauce. The five-layered pork is tender and juicy, not greasy or tough. The accompanying chestnuts are also glutinous and flavorful. It's definitely a great dish for a hearty meal (but the yellow wine quality is average, causing a slight sour and bitter aftertaste, but overall still a great pot of red braised pork.
Local green crabs, made in the local style. As someone who used to love steamed white crabs and plain poaching, I truly appreciated the unique flavor of 'local style'. Because the ingredients are so fresh, the sauce doesn't mask the crabs' natural sweetness. Abundant crab meat and roe, 91 green crabs, absolutely addictive!
Old duck soup dumplings – the dumplings aren't the star. What truly makes you put down your chopsticks is that bowl after bowl of old duck soup. The dumplings were left unfinished, but the soup was completely finished. Rich and fragrant old duck soup, with a hint of herbal aroma, fresh and not greasy, it's so addictive to drink three bowls straight.
