Actually, making frosted peanuts at home is so simple, zero mistakes, no humidity return, sweet, crispy and delicious
Hello everyone! I'm Delicious Little Cottage Liu. I share different home-style recipes with you every day. The ingredients needed are common, and the methods are simple, especially suitable for making at home.
Frosting peanuts, also known as peanut jam, peanut sugar, is a popular childhood snack for many 80s babies. As children, we could only eat it when someone was celebrating a happy event at someone else's house. There would only be a small dish on the table, and the dish was shallow, with limited space for peanut jam. During Chinese New Year, when guests came to our home, we would also put a dish of peanut jam to entertain them. Back then, we kids were so craving this peanut jam. Thinking about it now, I still really want to eat it. Full of memories.

Today, I'm going to share how to make frosting peanuts at home. The peanuts will be white, fragrant, crispy and delicious. After eating, your mouth will still have a lingering fragrance, and you will have endless memories. Let's take a look at the method with me.
1Pour peanuts into a basin, add a spoonful of salt, and add warm water to soak for about 10 minutes. Soaking the peanuts with water will make them expand a little, and it will make it easier for the peanuts to cook inside when frying.

After the peanuts are soaked, wash them clean again and drain the water before pouring them into the basin.
Beat an egg into the basin and then gradually add a small amount of starch, mixing it well so that every peanut can be evenly coated with starch. The peanuts coated with starch should look like in the picture below.

2Next, fry in a hot oil pan. Pour a lot of oil into the pan, and after the oil is hot, turn the heat to medium. Pour the peanuts coated with starch into the pan. At the beginning of frying, don't stir violently, wait for the peanuts to be cooked, then stir.

Finally, fry the peanuts until they are cooked through and crispy. Then you can shake off the excess oil and take them out. Don't fry the peanuts until they are burnt. It's best to taste one yourself to avoid the situation where the surface is cooked but the inside is still hard and not crispy.

3Then pour a bowl of white sugar and a bowl of water into the pan. First, open a large fire to stir the white sugar until it melts, and then wait for the water in the pan to boil before turning the heat to the smallest flame and simmering.

The appearance of white sugar melting
After the white sugar melts, you can see many dense small bubbles in the pot. Don't keep stirring, continue to simmer on low heat for a while, and the color will gradually turn pale yellow.

Continue simmering on low heat. As the sugar syrup bubbles in the pot grow bigger, it will reach the state of frosting. Then turn off the fire.

Quickly pour the fried peanuts into the pan and stir-fry evenly to coat the peanuts with sugar syrup.

As the temperature of the sugar syrup decreases, the sugar syrup coating the peanuts will gradually solidify and turn white. Continue stirring until the peanuts are completely covered in frost, and then you can take it out.
Okay, our frosting peanuts are done! They are fragrant, crispy and delicious. Making it at home has no additives. It's clean and hygienic, so children can eat it with confidence.
