Production steps

Step 1: First, pour 400 grams of common flour into a large bowl, add 5 grams of white sugar to promote fermentation, add 4 grams of yeast powder, and pour in 210 ml of warm water to make a dough, while stirring to form a large dough mass, then add 25 ml of edible oil (adding oil can make the steamed buns more soft), and knead into a slightly soft and smooth dough ball, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise twice its size

Step 2: Next, we will make the oil dough. Pour 40 grams of common flour into a bowl, 5 grams of salt, 3 grams of five-spice powder, 3 grams of pepper, and add 40 ml of hot oil, and stir until smooth.

Step 3: The dough has risen well. Sprinkle some dry flour on the dough, put the risen dough on the work surface, and use your hands to knead out the air, then roll it into a long strip, and cut it into 5 uniform dough pieces

Step 4: Take one dough piece, first roll it into a ball, gently press it flat, and use a rolling pin to roll it out evenly. Spread the oil dough evenly, then roll the dough piece up using a fold-triangle method, pressing one end to the bottom, and twisting it with both hands in opposite directions. This is how you make a bun wrapper. After all the wrappers are made, brush a thin layer of water on the surface, and then stick white sesame seeds on it. Roll it out with a rolling pin into a 1 cm thick circular bun wrapper. After all the bun wrappers are made, cover with plastic wrap and let them rise for 10 minutes

Step 5: Preheat the electric steamer with a small fire and heat the oil slightly. Put the bun wrapper with sesame seeds facing down, brush a layer of edible oil on the surface, cover the lid and steam for 40 seconds, open the lid and flip it over, and cover the lid again to steam for 40 seconds, until both sides are golden and crispy, you can take it out

Plating, our Five-Spice Sesame Bun is ready. It is savory and crispy, and crumbles off when you bite into it. It is really delicious. If you like it, you can make it for your family to taste.
