Making Meat Pie at Home: Devoured 3 Pieces in One Go - Seriously Delicious!

Rou jia mo is one of my frequently eaten snacks, originating from Xi'an, and now it is sold all over the country. I tried to make it myself before, and the taste is not bad. If you like to eat meat pie, you can try to make it yourself.

Making meat pie is divided into two steps: first, make braised pork, and second, make the pie. I first posted the dough, and during the dough-making process, I made braised pork. Honestly, because it was my first time making it, some steps were not as compact, and it took a lot of time. With practice, it will definitely get better. However, the taste of the pie I made this time is not bad, and it's not much worse than the taste bought in stores.

Meat pie

☛Materials

50g of rock sugar, appropriate amount of green onions and ginger, 160ml of water, 3g of yeast powder, 1 piece of cinnamon, 2 star anise, 3 leaves of bay leaf, 250g of flour, 20g of white sugar, 3g of yeast, about 100ml of warm water

☛Making process

1Mix flour, white sugar, and yeast powder together, add warm water, and mix into a dough. Then, ferment for about an hour or more;

2During the fermentation process, you can make braised pork. Wash the five-spiced pork, boil it in water once;

3Cut the boiled five-spiced pork into dicing, pour it into a pot, sear to release a little oil, then add spices, salt, soy sauce, rock sugar, and water to stew;

4If the water dries up, add water again, and stew the pork until it's soft. Leave a little broth;

5After the dough is fermented, deflate and knead it, then divide it into pieces about the same size;

6Roll out each piece into a circular shape and flatten it;

7Heat the pot without oil, put the pie into it, dry-fry until cooked, flip it frequently, otherwise it will burn;

8Cut the baked pie in half and fill it with the braised pork. Add a little meat broth to it. If you don't like large meat chunks, you can cut the braised pork into smaller pieces and add chopped green pepper, which will also prevent it from being too greasy.
