Skipjack is loved by everyone because of its delicate meat, fine spines, and rich nutrients, which are beneficial for liver protection, blood supplementation, and cholesterol reduction.
There are many kinds of skipjack dishes in the culinary field, and various cooking methods are suitable for cooking, such as frying, stir-frying, steaming, and deep-frying. To make delicious skipjack dishes, eliminating the fishy smell is crucial.
Below, we share a family-style braised skipjack recipe.
1Remove scales and internal organs from the skipjack and wash it clean.

2Tear off the skipjack's back fin.
3Cut the skipjack into small segments.

4Prepare a little onion segment.

5Place ginger shreds and scallion segments in a bowl, knead into a ginger-scallion juice.

6Pour the ginger-scallion juice into the skipjack segments and marinate.
7Heat oil in a pan, fry the onion segment until slightly yellowish and remove it. Leave onion oil in the pan.

8Place the marinated skipjack segments in the onion oil pan.

9Fry over low heat.

10Fry the skipjack segments until golden brown on both sides and remove them.
11Add garlic and ginger slices to the remaining oil to release fragrance.

12Add the fried skipjack segments.

13Pour in an appropriate amount of soy sauce to enhance the flavor.

14Add an appropriate amount of water.
15Add the previously fried onion segments.

16Season with salt, sugar, chicken broth, and pepper.

17Add a little oyster sauce.

18Add red bell pepper chunks to enhance the color of the dish.
19Simmer the skipjack until cooked through and serve.
