XiuXiu" White Cranes Continue to Stay in Poyang Lake Following ‘419’
On March 30th at noon, affected by continuous rainfall and increased water from the Five Rivers, the Poyang Lake water level continued to rise and surge, marking the farewell of 'XiuXiu' the white crane who had spent 146 days wintering in the Poyang Lake Nature Reserve, passing over the Wuheng Migratory Bird Town before embarking on its northward journey with companions.

It is reported that the white crane 'XiuXiu' had previously been poisoned and was rescued and released by volunteers from Badanzhedong Wetland in Liaoning Province in March 2019. On November 5th at dawn, the white crane 'XiuXiu' arrived at the Poyang Lake Nature Reserve for wintering. According to satellite monitoring, after departing from Badanzhedong, 'XiuXiu' the white crane left the Poyang Lake on May 13th, spending the night on the south bank of the Keta Reservoir before heading north to Siberia. On October 13th, 'XiuXiu' the white crane entered from Hekou City. On November 2nd, after flying south from Badanzhedong Wetland, 'XiuXiu' the white crane arrived at Poyang Lake Nature Reserve on November 5th at dawn.
