Luoyang's New Hot Tourist Spots: Tickets Are Just Your ID Card

Luoyang is the primary birthplace of Chinese civilization, the central city of the Grand Canal of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and it got its name due to its location north of the Luo River. It was the capital for 13 dynasties, with a capital city established for 1500 years. Of course, Luoyang is also a famous tourist city, boasting globally renowned Luoyang Peonies, Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple, and Guanlin Temple.

In Luoyang's old city district, there is a newly built free attraction – Luoyang Ancient City. Luoyang Ancient City has invested over 10 billion yuan and is currently open with Phase 1. Although it's new, the park also contains cultural connotations. For example, visitors can see the Wenfeng Pagoda. The Wenfeng Pagoda was built during the Song Dynasty and is one of the few ancient pagodas in the area, standing approximately 30 meters tall. Ancient builders wished for many talented people to emerge when building pagodas.

Luoyang Ancient City now doesn't charge entrance fees; visitors can simply enter the park by scanning their ID cards. At different times, the park offers various performances within the area. The purpose of this park model is quite obvious – abandoning entrance fees is to attract more tourists to enter and drive more shopping and dining traffic.

Leaving all that aside, the park is a very suitable leisure park. The space is spacious, the facilities are complete, and it's suitable for tourists of all ages. There are many tourists in the park on weekends, and many local residents visit as well.

There's also the point that Luoyang Ancient City is very suitable for study tours, because Luoyang Ancient City has shops selling non-heritage creative products such as Ruoyang Liu, and children can experience traditional cultural skills such as pen-making and woodblock printing here. Coupled with the large park area and high safety, there are now many study tour groups here.

As I just mentioned, the park implements a free entry policy, but the food inside the park is relatively expensive. If you feel it's not cost-effective, you can exit through the north gate and go to the east main street of Luoyang Old City, where you can try various local soups that locals love.

Luoyang Ancient City is even more bustling at night, because there is a light show held at night. The light show is based on the Wenfeng Pagoda, and all the scenes are displayed on the Wenfeng Pagoda. Although it's short, it's still very impressive, because the Wenfeng Pagoda light show has also become a new tourist hotspot in Luoyang.

When traveling to Luoyang, besides Longmen, White Horse Temple, and Guanlin Temple, if you have time and happen to be in the old city, I recommend visiting here to experience it.
