Beautiful Yi Ai Lake, a Standout Attraction in Huangzhou Scenic Area, Opening First After the Pandemic!
Huangzhou is a city with many loves. There is a beautiful lake in the city, named Yi Ai Lake. A blue lake with clear water, and willows growing along the shore, the lake surface shimmering with light, like silk, full of poetry in the folds, and even more devoid of gentleness in the streams.
A vast lake surface, bright and transparent, the lake waves like a realm, willows flanking the banks, reflecting beautiful figures, full of tenderness; green water embracing green mountains, green mountains encircling green water, you have me, I have you; looking up from a high place, harbors intersected, winding shorelines, as if fairies were playing here, dropping their sleeves among the mountains and water.

Yi Ai Lake is located on the west side of Huangzhou High-Tech Economic Development Zone, with an area of over 5400 mu. The water area is nearly 4000 mu. A garden expert said that looking down from the sky, Yi Ai Lake is more beautiful than West Lake in Hangzhou.
Harbors connect, lakes link together, with small islands falling into the lake. The lake is located in the city, the city is under the Red Cliff, should be a realm of paradise on earth. Historical encounters have endowed Huangzhou with a thick cultural accumulation, and its rare urban original ecology makes it even more magical. Climbing and looking far, Yi Ai Lake and the ancient city's scenery come into view, a perfect combination of mountains and cities connecting, cities and lakes linking together, and the lake and mountain scenery are perfectly matched…
Three hundred and thirteen years ago, the great poet Su Dongpo was exiled here, and he named a small pavilion by the lake 'Yi Ai Pavilion', so this beautiful lake got its name – Yi Ai Lake. It's not a paradise for the proud, but a homeland for the dispirited, so it has never been overly refined, and there have been few guesses; it's still fresh and natural.
The original Yi Ai Pavilion has long since faded into the smoke of history. Later, the people of Huangzhou called the lake in the present city's suburbs, Dong Lake, West Lake, and Lotus Lake, Yi Ai Lake. Why did they call a lake that had nothing to do with Yi Ai Pavilion, Yi Ai Lake? It's probably because the simple and honest people of Huangzhou missed the honest official, Su Dongpo.

Yi Ai Lake has the reputation of 'Lake in the City'. In the past, the city was small, and Yi Ai Lake was in the wilderness, even falling into the mortal world, it was fortunate not to be polluted, and it was beautiful and pure like a rural girl. But as the city expanded, Yi Ai Lake gradually became a sewage lake.
In 1999, information provided by the Huanggang Environmental Protection Bureau showed that 533 cubic meters of sewage was discharged into Yi Ai Lake untreated every day, causing the water quality to deteriorate. There were 1398 companies along the lake, and the lake received a large amount of industrial wastewater every year, in addition to accepting the direct discharge of sewage from 230,000 residents of Huangzhou city, causing severe nutrient enrichment of the lake.
The data at the time showed that about 500 mu of water surface was severely polluted, and the rest was slightly polluted.
Water is the soul of Huangzhou, the lifeline of the citizens. To regain the lost spirituality and luster of the water towns, the people of Huangzhou inherited the spirit of Great's flood control and carried out comprehensive governance of the water environment.

The beautiful Yi Ai Lake welcomes every tourist who goes to Huangzhou, Hubei. If you have been there, you can also chat about your own experiences.
