Legend of the Pineapple Temple
Nanhai Temple, also known as Polo Temple, is located in Miaotou Village, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, built in the 14th year of Emperor Kaileong of the Sui Dynasty (594), with a history of over 1400 years, and is the place where successive Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to the sea. The temple covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters, and there is a bathing pavilion on the southwest Chapuqing Hill, which was the first scenic spot during the Song and Yuan Dynasties, named 'Fu Xu Bathe the Sun'.
On December 14th at 3:00 PM in 2019, I wandered alone in the temple, and felt the temple's legend and recorded it.

Standing beneath the temple's archway
'The Sea Doesn't Lift Waves' in large letters
Shining in the sunlight
Looking up to the horizon
The sky
There is no color of the sea anymore
The wind before the temple
It is also calm
Standing on the main square of the temple
I stand like an ancient tree
My roots
Penetrate the ancient and deep soil
A passionate love, with tangled roots, began to grow
Day and night, I grew
Growing into a thousand-year-long vigil
My canopy rises high into the sky
Towards the sky
As if listening intently
The stories of the wind
My branches enclose in a circle, like clasped hands
As if worshipping
The majesty of the sea
Who is calling me?
A thousand-year-old, mysterious secret
A legendary tale from the ancient times

Therefore, I stand as a tree
Standing in a thousand-year-consistent pose
Standing with a steadfast and unyielding faith

My front
Aa (a) rising
Coiling for more than ten centuries
Finally forming a
Endless and continuous
Blessings and protection for long journeys
From now on
The Sea Doesn't Lift Waves
World peace and tranquility
