The 5 Most Beautiful and Undiscovered Villages in Anhui Province: Places Rarely Visited by Ordinary People
It's been half a month since I settled in Shexian, and in this half month, I've visited many places. Today, I'm listing 5 small and niche attractions in the region that are suitable for self-driving trips in the spring (and other seasons as well). These places are definitely quite niche, and some require a certain level of driving skills. It's not recommended for beginners.
Xitai Village
Theoretically speaking, Shitai Xitai Village is a relatively niche place, but in my eyes, it's already a fairly popular place. Given that many people still don't know about it, I'm listing it here first. Xitai Village is suitable for visiting throughout the year, and the cloud seas there are very beautiful. In spring, paired with rapeseed flowers, it will be even more beautiful. Of course, when sunflowers bloom in the summer, it will be another different beauty.
Shangtan Village
Shangtan Village is a truly niche attraction in Shexian. Coming to Shangtan Village in the spring to see rapeseed flowers in the terraces is definitely a good choice. However, the road into the village is quite difficult, and there are few places to meet cars. If you are a beginner, I don't recommend driving there. This year's rapeseed flower season is almost over, so if you have time next spring, you should definitely go and see it. It's a very niche place.
Guyong Village
Guyong Village is also the place I just visited two days ago. The rapeseed flower terraces there are also very good. The key is that there's also a waterfall in the village. I like villages with mountains, water, and scenery – Guyong Village is a good place. Most of it is adobe houses. However, the same problem exists: the road into the village is not very good, not as narrow as Shangtan Village, but there are some road sections that are difficult to meet cars, so consider it carefully if you want to go.
Baishitou Village
Baishitou Village is my most favorite ancient village. It's not eroded by commercialization, and it retains an original ecological environment. It has ancient buildings, and it often has misty clouds. There are also very beautiful streams. It can be said that among all the small villages in, I like Baishitou Village the most. The road into the village is also very easy to walk. The only pity is that Baishitou County is inconvenient for transportation, which is more difficult for people from outside the province.
Hushan Village
Hushan Village is located in Shitai, a deserted village. It has been abandoned for a long time, but it's still a village I like. When the cloud seas appear in Shitai, you can see them in Hushan Village. There are also many old houses in the village. However, it's a pity that Shitai cannot enter by private car, you can only take local tourist buses to enter the village. Going to Hushan Village requires walking or waiting for the bus, which is relatively more troublesome.
There are still many small and niche villages in Anhui, and I've not been out much recently because of the rainy weather. I'll continue to explore them later. If you like self-driving tours and the humanistic scenery and customs of, welcome to follow 'Self-Driving All Over the World.'
