In 2019, the Foshan Chengyuan Garden Greenification and Maintenance Center piloted the introduction of over 100 'Guangzhou Cherry' trees in Dongping River Stone Bay Wetland Park, Ya Yi Park Zenhehua Island, Zhongshan Park and the north gate of Wufeng Park. After a year of careful cultivation, some cherry blossoms welcomed their first flourishing period this spring!

'Guangzhou Cherry' is a cherry blossom variety independently researched and developed in China, created in 2013. Compared to other varieties, 'Guangzhou Cherry' has a flamboyant flower shape, pink single petals, and in full bloom, the 'Guangzhou Cherry' is extremely beautiful, covering the entire tree, like clouds and mist

Due to the love of cherry blossoms for cold weather, the 'Tokyo Cherry' (Oshima cherry) and 'Hezhen Cherry' widely planted in China in the Pearl River Delta region cannot grow in the humid and hot conditions of the Pearl River Delta region. Therefore, the 'Guangzhou Cherry', thriving in the subtropical climate, is the most wind and rain resistant and heat resistant cherry blossom variety with a unique Lingnan flavor
