Hidden Gem Restaurant in Beibei, Chongqing: Worth a Second Visit (3 People Spent 76 Yuan)
Beibei, a garden of Chongqing, although not as many trendy food areas as other regions, it also hides many specialty shops. From environment to taste, it will make you want to check in repeatedly. A friend recommended a station restaurant, which is quite hidden. The first time I went, I was attracted by it.

This store is opposite the former Baiyu Garden Bookstore. I often went there to buy various study materials back then. But now it's no longer there. There are all kinds of green plants planted in front of Bai Yi's door, giving a very 'hidden' feeling. After entering the store, you will especially like the interior decoration. After all, the decoration clearly shows that it was spent with care. The station is divided into two parts: accommodation and dining. The accommodation area is very large, and the boss said that the accommodation is only about 100 yuan a day, which is very affordable. There is a guzheng in the middle of the lobby, next to which is a small bridge and flowing water, and the wooden decoration gives the environment a Chinese style.

The dining area is relatively small, but it is divided into two areas on the ground floor and the first floor. The ground floor environment is very good, but except for the card seat next to the cashier, the rest are large tables.
The first floor although all large tables, but the floor height is low, slightly crowded. However, next to it is a tea room, full of books and teaware, which is quite literary. After sitting down, the waiter gave a pot of oolong tea, which is what Island Island likes. Perhaps because the store is mainly a station, the waiting time for food and drinks is relatively long, and the service needs to 'shout' or directly call to the front desk.

Although it is a station restaurant, the variety of dishes in the store is quite a lot, most of them are home-cooked dishes, and the price is not expensive. We ordered a set meal, three dishes and a soup, and rice was free, and the total cost was only 76 yuan.

The most clicked dish in the store is this Jinyuanquan Yam Chicken. From the name, it is clear that this dish is cooked with the water from Jinyuan Mountain. This might be the advantage of the location, as there is no shortage of water from Jinyuan Mountain under Jinyuan Mountain. Whether it's chicken or yam, the cooking process is just right, the chicken is not woody, the yam is soft and sticky, and the addition of spicy and fragrant flavor is also very good.
The sticky rice mixed with small potatoes is indeed sticky, and the potatoes used are small potatoes of local size, not large potatoes cut into small pieces, which is why they are called 'sticky' small potatoes. The potatoes are cooked very soft and sticky, with bacon diced and long beans inside. Perhaps because of the addition of meat, it is very fragrant.

The most appetizing sour soup carp is simply loved, so much so that we finished drinking all the soup in the end. The sour cabbage is old-fashioned sour cabbage, very sour, with a little chili, sour and spicy, a great way to eat rice. The carp in the soup is particularly flavorful and very tender, and even broad noodles are inside, yes! It's broad noodles, not vermicelli, with a more chewy texture, which is the perfect combination.

The last dish is seasonal vegetables. Simply stir-fried is the best way to taste the original flavor of the food, especially after eating several spicy dishes, this seasonal vegetable is also a quick clearing of the palate.
We three girls, although three dishes and a soup, some remained, the portion is quite a lot. But if a man goes, he might be short by a little, and he can order a few more dishes separately. But with this environment and taste, it's definitely worth a second visit.
