South China Morning Post: Zhuhai Beach Swimming Pool Set to Undergo Upgrades, Addressing Pedestrian Crossing Difficulties and Parking Shortages

Effect Diagram
Reporter learned that the pedestrian crossing facility project at the Beach Swimming Pool is located on the west side of Lingtou Middle Road, north of the Dehan Hotel, next to the Beach Swimming Pool’s Love Post Office. It belongs to the accompanying tourism service inquiry center under construction at the Beach Swimming Pool.
The project is approximately 45 meters long and proposes to build an underground pedestrian passage that will cross Lingtou Middle Road. The west side will connect to the negative first floor of the under-construction Beach Swimming Pool tourism service inquiry center, and the east side will connect to the Beach Swimming Pool’s sand beach, with the east side entrance set to include a pedestrian staircase and an automatic elevator. Citizens will be able to cross the street more easily. The exit will be equipped with a canopy designed to resemble sea waves in its form and incorporate the patterns of seashells to enrich the architectural details.

Functionally, the project will truly achieve traffic segregation, effectively improving road traffic conditions and increasing pedestrian crossing convenience.
In addition, construction of the Beach Swimming Pool tourism service inquiry center, connected to this pedestrian crossing facility, has also made new progress. The basement main structure construction is currently complete, and the aboveground main structure construction has reached three floors, with partial construction extending to five floors. The overall project is expected to be completed in December this year.

The inquiry center will in the future take on tourist information and consultation services for residents, and will also be equipped with a parking lot, gathering tourist and commercial supporting functions, providing a gathering, exchange, and leisure place for tourists and citizens.
