Waternet News, April 1st (YMG Media Reporter Qu Caiyun, Correspondent Ma Guihua Wang Liliwen Photography Report) On March 31st, workers were busy laying paving stones at the construction site of the Fisherman’s Wharf Coastal Slow-Moving System Transformation Project. The transformation project includes the construction of approximately 2200 meters of coastal wooden boardwalk, leisure corridor, viewing platform, coastal paving stones, and coastal line repair, as well as lighting beautification and greening around the wooden boardwalk. Upon completion of the project, the downtown area will add a new public platform for citizens and tourists to enjoy the coastal beauty of Weihai, enhancing its coastal tourism, leisure and sightseeing functions, allowing citizens and tourists to better experience and enjoy the beauty of Weihai’s coastal scenery.
According to the deployment of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Fisherman’s Wharf Coastal Slow-Moving System Transformation Project was implemented in 2020, led by the Municipal Management Committee. The construction area of the slow-moving system is along the coastal side of Fisherman’s Wharf. The design and planning adopt a ‘blue’ ocean background and ‘green’ plant communities as the base, focusing on building an ecological ‘green corridor’ to lay a solid foundation for subsequent tourism development.
Relevant personnel from the Municipal Management Committee Municipal Maintenance Center introduced that the construction project always adheres to the principles of respecting nature, adapting to nature, and protecting nature, minimizing damage to surrounding reefs and natural landscapes while conducting project construction. At present, the project has completed the earthwork and concrete pouring for the entire section, and is currently carrying out wooden boardwalk paving, coastal line repair and coastal paving stone construction.
The Municipal Management Committee Municipal Maintenance Center organized the construction unit to seize the favorable opportunity of the spring construction season, scientifically arranging construction procedures and working overtime to accelerate the progress of the project. The project aims to complete the construction of approximately 2200 meters of wooden boardwalk, 2 coastal paving stones and one leisure corridor before May of 2020, which is the peak tourist season in the city. At that time, the downtown area will add a new public platform for citizens and tourists to enjoy the coastal beauty of Weihai, enhancing its coastal tourism, leisure and sightseeing functions, allowing citizens and tourists to better experience and enjoy the beauty of Weihai’s coastal scenery.
