The First of the Five Sacred Mountains, Mount Tai in Shandong.
We originally planned to take the cable car to the summit and then hike down, which would have been less tiring, but as they say, plans are made to be broken. The cable car was out of service in the morning, and tourists of all ages joined together to climb Mount Tai to the North Heavenly Gate, taking 2 hours.
Reflecting on this journey is also beautiful – hiking up was a more immersive experience than riding the cable car.
