Wuxi Great News! Ring City Ancient Grand Canal Footpath Completed
Got it! Got it! The Ring City Ancient Grand Canal has been officially declared 'Connected' as of April 3rd.
The millennium-old Grand Canal runs north to south through multiple provinces and municipalities in China, only passing through Wuxi, creating 'One Ring, One Circle'.
Starting in 2018, Liangxi District has re-organized the 11.8km Grand Canal Scenic Belt's function and landscape, creating the Wuxi Ring City Ancient Grand Canal Walking Path. It's a three-loop, two-line structure, aiming to create 'Slow Melody of Xincheng' (Wuxi), allowing citizens to enjoy a relaxed life.
Now citizens can fully enjoy the unique 'One Ring' of the ancient Grand Canal, strolling, exercising, sightseeing, and conveniently accessing tourist hotspots…
Currently, the entire Wuxi Ring City Ancient Grand Canal Walking Path has been fully connected, achieving barrier-free access. In the future, the path will further develop new cultural landscape highlights such as city sculptures, connecting Qingqiao Bridge, NanChang Street, Nanchan Temple, XiaoLou, Chong'an Temple, Tieguan Ting, Huangbudun, Beitian Park into a connected chain, creating an east-west tourist loop, bringing citizens and tourists closer to the Grand Canal, truly integrating it with the city, becoming another brilliant new card for the Wuxi Grand Canal Cultural Belt, playing a positive role in canal culture display, integrating and linking cultural tourism resources along the route, and improving people's health and livelihoods.
