The Kyoto Ritz-Carlton, a Ritz-Carlton brand, officially opened on February 7, 2014. This is Ritz-Carlton's fourth hotel in Japan, following Osaka, Tokyo, and Okinawa. The Kyoto Ritz-Carlton is quietly situated on the banks of the Kamogawa River, offering a wide view of the famous Thirty-Six Peaks of Kyoto. The hotel's unique location allows you to enjoy the beautiful views of the Kamogawa River and the Eastern Mountains.
The hotel is also close to central Kyoto, such as Gion, Karasuma and Shijo-Kawaramachi, a convenient location for sightseeing and business activities. Here, you can experience the premium time that can only be found in Japanese resort hotels and immerse yourself in the luxurious space of ancient Kyoto culture. The Kyoto Ritz-Carlton consists of four above-ground floors and three underground floors. The hotel has 134 rooms with an average area of 50 square meters, and boasts renowned restaurants such as 'PIERREHERMéPARIS' patisserie, 'Mizuki' Japanese restaurant, and 'Lalocanda' Italian restaurant, providing warm and attentive service.

Exterior architecture and interior design draw inspiration from Kyoto's Meiji-era mansions and courtyards. It cleverly incorporates the architectural style of Tenryu-ji Temple and water elements, creating a lively and tranquil Zen atmosphere.
Hotel Entrance
Unlike traditional hotels, the hotel's reception and front desk are completely separated in different spaces, separated by a sliding door. This not only reinforces the excitement of scene transitions but also ensures a quieter check-in process.
All floral arrangements in the hotel are designed by Christian Tortu, a renowned florist from Paris, who is often referred to as the 'Yves Saint Laurent of flowers'. Christian says: 'In every stage of the flower's life, it is beautiful, even when it withers, it is also moving.'

The hotel is also committed to collaborating with Kyoto's traditional craftspeople, such as those from HIYOSHIYA (Nijiya - Daybreak). Nijiya has been integrating umbrella craftsmanship into other designs since the Edo period. Through the soft and quiet light filtering through the washi paper screen, it is like sunlight seeping into the umbrella surface. Lighting Fixtures

La Locanda Restaurant

La Locanda specializes in top-tier Italian cuisine. The dining area is divided into two parts, the Ebisugawa-tei restaurant with wooden paneling is the oldest building in the hotel, which was once the townhouse of Fujita Industrial Group founder Denzaburo Fujita, built in 1908, meticulously restored and used as a unique dining space. Outside is a beautiful Japanese dry landscape garden, which is very elegant.
