8 Villages in Wuhan Make the List of ‘National Forest Villages’, Huangpi Accounts for 6
On April 10th, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration officially released the first and second lists of National Forest Villages. Eight villages in Wuhan made the list, 6 of which are in the Huangpi District, namely Liu Jiashan Village in Cai Street, Du Tang Village in Yaoji Street, Guan Tian Village in Changxuan Ridge Street, Pengwan Village in Caijiaozha Street, Sheng Tian Village in Wangjiahe Street, and Tangliuqiao Village in Wangjiahe Street.
The 4A scenic area of Mulan Flower Village is located in Du Tang Village, Yaoji Street.
Among them, Liu Jiashan Village is located next to the Qingliang Scenic Area in Huangpi District, located in the remote mountains and ridges of the of the Dabie Mountains, and is known as Wuhan’s ‘Polar Village’. Du Tang Village is also known as ‘Mulan Flower Village’, where the ‘four-season flower sea’ has become a ‘popular’ scenic spot in people’s circles. Guan Tian Village is the gateway village of Mulan Tianchi National 4A Scenic Area.
A responsible person from the Huangpi District Forestry Bureau introduced that the selection criteria for ‘National Forest Villages’ are very strict, including the protection of rural natural ecological landscape, the systematic governance of mountains, rivers, land, lakes, and grass, forest greening construction, forest quality and benefits, rural greening and management, and rural ecological culture. There are 25 secondary indicators under the forest greening construction index. The forest coverage rate is one of the important evaluation criteria, and the forest coverage rate of Guan Tian Village reached 95%.
Transforming villages and towns into scenic spots and rural areas into scenic areas, these 6 rural villages in Huangpi have been included in ‘National Forest Villages’, which is closely related to Huangpi’s implementation of rural revitalization and construction of a beautiful all-inclusive rural area. As a national first-class all-inclusive tourism demonstration district, Huangpi County (City, District) has the densest number of A-level scenic areas nationwide. With Wuhan pressing the ‘restart button’, major scenic areas are opening up in an orderly manner. (Changjiang Daily)
