Baixiandun—A Place in Qingdao's Laoshan Mountain That Most People Don't Know About
During those days in Qingdao, weekends were often spent climbing with a group of friends, exploring places rarely visited by most tourists. Besides the several islands in the sea, I recommend EightDūn. It is said to be the departure point for the Eight Immortals to come to the East.
Traveling to EightDūn is generally difficult due to inconvenient transportation and accessibility. This time, we will pass through Dream Beach and enter through a mountain road;
This is Dream Beach, also known as Try Gold Stone Bay by locals, and nicknamed Dream Beach by backpackers – like a crescent moon hanging among the seas. It's a beautiful place.

The sea here is clear and transparent, with hues of azure, and the pebbles are smooth and round, varying in color between yellow, green, and blue – each one a work of art.

Located at the southeasternmost tip of Laoshan Mountain in Qingdao, EightDūn. It is said that the Eight Immortals set sail from here, resting on giant stone piles at the base of the cliffs, hence the name EightDūn.

The towering cliffs by the sea are also a great place for rappelling.

The cliffs are approximately 50 meters high with a depression in the middle; rappelling is difficult and not recommended.
I was eager and had prepared my equipment before climbing to the top and descending. The sound of howling sea winds and the cheers of the backpackers filled my ears, as the cliffs rushed past. Despite having professional equipment and the guidance and protection of experienced backpackers, the sight of the deep cliff below made me feel uneasy and fearful. If you have a weak heart or are afraid of heights, don't try this.
