Natural stone bridges are common, so, where is the world's highest drop-off natural stone bridge, do you know?

I've visited many famous scenic spots in China and have seen many natural stone bridges created by nature's incredible artistry. For example, the Tian Sheng Bridge in Shennongjia, renowned for its caves, waterfalls, and the thrilling experience of crossing a natural bridge; the Three Bridges in Wulingyuan, Chongqing, boasting a combination of grandeur, wonder, danger, and beauty; and many other wonderful natural stone bridges. However, they all fall short of Zhangjiajie's 'Diaojia' – 'Diaojia' is known for its 'grandeur, wonder, and danger,' and when you stand there, you can feel its magnificent momentum from a kilometer away, and it brings a sense of shock.

Diaojia () is located in the Yuanjiajie scenic area of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is a natural stone bridge suspended between two towering peaks. Its span is over 20 meters, its thickness is only 4 meters, and its width is only 2 meters, but its height is nearly 400 meters. Such a span, height, and level of danger are truly rare in the world. It is the highest natural stone bridge ever discovered, hence its name 'Diaojia' – 'Diaojia' ().

The formation of the stone bridges is closely related to the formation of Zhangjiajie's sandstone peak forest landform. They are all the result of early tectonic movement, which began to slowly weather the mountains about two billion years ago. Under the combined action of wind erosion, gravity, water flow, rain, and ice melting, two peaks gradually broke apart. This break then left the stone bridge we see today, still connecting the two peaks, a true miracle of nature.

Although the bridge's width is only 2 meters, it is relatively flat, allowing pedestrians to pass through freely. The opposite side of the bridge is Meihantiao, which is considered one of Yuanjiajie's best viewing spots – 'Meihantiao' means 'a scene so beautiful it can bewitch the soul.' As tourists step onto the stone bridge, the feeling of heart-stopping, soul-leaving is real, and they feel like flying in the air, cautiously. They lean against the railings to admire the surrounding scenery, the layered and stacked like bamboo peaks, and the peaks hidden in the misty clouds.

Today, 'Diaojia' () is not just a spectacular sight for tourists to enjoy. Many hearts locks are hanging on the bridge railing, because local tour guides repeatedly introduce a sentence: 'Walk across the bridge, live to ninety-nine, stand on the bridge, earn tens of thousands.' Consequently, many visitors from home and abroad will make wishes and pray with a beautiful intention on the abyss.

This natural stone bridge is one of Zhangjiajie's 'Ten Wonders,' and it's also a landmark of Yuanjiajie. Walking across the bridge is a thrilling experience, and the feeling of trembling and swaying during the process, as well as the sense of panic, is unforgettable. Do you have any travel experiences to Zhangjiajie? If you go there, would you go to walk across 'Diaojia' () and experience that heart-stopping feeling? Welcome to your insightful commentary!
