China’s First Love Village Gorge Goes Viral Nationwide, Henan’s Unique Gorge-Type Scenic Area Dubbed ‘Central China’s First Gorge’
Some say that Qingyueshan (meaning 'quiet valley'), quiet mountains, and beautiful (Chinese fir trees) are enough to make time stand still, causing people to forget the day and hour. Qinglongxia is like a maiden kept hidden in a secluded mansion, grown up but little known, and if you have the opportunity, you must come here to feel the quiet beauty of the gorge.
Jiaozhou Qinglongxia is located in Xiuwen County, Jiaozhou City, Henan Province, and is one of the main tourist areas of Henan Yantai Mountain World Geopark. It is also the only gorge-type provincial scenic and historic interest area in the province and is known as ‘The First Gorge in Central China’.
Xiuwen County Qinglongxia went viral across the country overnight, and ‘China’s First Love Village’ attracted a lot of netizens. In fact, it is a simple mountain village adjacent to Yantai Mountain, located in Qinglongxia Scenic Area in Xiuwen County.
Their shapes resemble independent entities, but their spirits are connected and interdependent. They use water to build bridges and water to link lines, creating a harmonious and beautiful interplay. As a result, they received a name that is as elegant and beautiful as their own appearance – Jiu Lian Waterfall (Nine Linked Falls).
Looking out, it gives off a feeling similar to Taofenghuayuan (Taoist paradise), with deep canyons, towering peaks, and a sense of merging with an otherworldly realm. The peaks are shaped by wind and water erosion, and resemble giant bamboo shoots peeling off their skins. In front of the gorge, we are just a small point, as if we are in a vast and distant world.
The scenic area has long, deep gorges, green mountains, clear water, and peaks competing to show off, with layered peaks and winding paths, creating hidden alleys. The vegetation is abundant, the climate is unique, and the gorge is a natural gallery of mountains and rivers, a summer resort. Walking through the forest, you can see mountains of red and green, bizarre rocks stand tall, and lush foliage. You can smell the fragrance of flowers and hear the sound of running water, creating a peaceful and musical experience.
Mountains without water are boring, and water without mountains is meaningless. It’s the harmony between mountains and water that’s interesting. The most enjoyable thing about wandering through the gorge is to be accompanied by a stream of water, never feeling lonely. When you reach the stream, the sound of the water will accompany you. The gentle sound of the stream is a quiet and subtle melody, neither warm nor hot, nor urgent nor rushed.
Amidst the rushing torrents, there is a completely different scene - a clear blue-green stream flows down between the jagged rocks, so clear and quiet, like a precious jade.
The gorge’s natural formations, its colorful hues, and the intertwining of water and rock create a breathtaking landscape. It’s a place of serene beauty, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The sounds of the water – the rushing streams, the gentle murmurs – create a calming and meditative atmosphere. It’s a place to reconnect with nature and find a sense of peace.
The gorge's beauty is enhanced by the interplay of light and shadow, the textures of the rocks, and the sounds of the water. It's a place to lose yourself in the moment and appreciate the simple wonders of the natural world.
