My Understanding of Giving Up
Today is a day to remember, because my Xinlang blog account and password are gone.
Maybe it's because I'm particularly busy at work, maybe because I've reached a certain age, I'm unwilling to go back and do those things that are easily achievable, and I keep postponing them with various excuses. Finally, when I want to write something, I find that my Xinlang blog mobile phone number has changed, and I've really forgotten my password. I also don't want to bother the customer service phone with the mechanical sound, so I gave up.
If there's a little regret? Yes, there is, these regrets are real, after all, that blog accompanied me for 7 years, there are many of my own small things hidden inside, after all, I still don't dare to say it's a creation, there are also some public blog posts, and there are also 'unfinished' notes at the end of the blog posts.
When I gave up looking for the account and password, I knew that there would be no continuation. The content that was written but not finished, I can't continue it anymore.
Yes, many things are like this. If I can persist in listening to the mechanical sound of the customer service phone and carefully enter a few numbers according to the instructions, I might be able to recover my account and password. But I didn't.
In life, we also stop doing things because of some not too beautiful things. When we stop, many things will be different from what we originally thought. Some things can continue, and some things will be lost forever. Things that continue may change over time and due to different enthusiasm, just like when you're in a key moment of ranking and a courier phone comes. More of those that are lost forever? I define it as giving up.
Stopped, can it stop? It can stop.
Then what?
Don't you have to ask yourself whether you're continuing or not? If you can continue, it's not giving up. If you don't, that's true giving up!
I like to do some wooden carvings, some objects, I can keep doing them without stopping, and I've also stopped making some objects in the middle of production, the reasons may be many, sometimes I got a phone, sometimes I had to eat, etc.
Part of them, I'll stop and finish them again, but some of them are directly discarded as semi-finished products, maybe in the bookcase, maybe in a small drawer, or even thrown into the trash can. These are all giving up.
Stopping is the key reason for creating giving up. When you stop, your mood may be different; when you stop, your enthusiasm may be different; when you stop, your expectations of things may be different, and the mood may be different.
The time of stopping can be long or short, and if it's long, it may be a lifetime.
