The Person Destined for You is the One Who Can Make You Better
At seventeen, I didn't like Xiao Fen very much. She used only harsh language when scolding people and would jump up and shout. She was also very selfish, always eating alone after buying things, and when she washed clothes in the bathroom, she would push you away and wouldn't even glance in your direction. That air of superiority, like no one could confront her. Everyone avoided her.
However, for a while, I began to doubt my own perception. Whenever she entered the dormitory, she would smile, a continuous, subtle smile. I would turn away, and she would politely step aside, saying something like, 'Wen's hair is really beautiful.' When washing clothes, she learned to queue, and if she saw someone in a hurry, she would make way for them. This state continued for a month, and we were all shocked, suspecting she had been possessed by a ghost. A woman like a shrew suddenly became gentle. We couldn't ask her about it, so we encouraged me to investigate. Because Xiao Fen only used me to correct her inappropriate language, this calmness weakened her momentum. I directly confronted her and asked her, and she responded in a coquettish tone, 'It's nothing, I was just not good at it before, okay? I really love you all.'
The whole dormitory was covered in goosebumps. This Xiao Fen was truly unwell.
One day, a young man, about seven or eight years older than us, appeared, with a mature, gentlemanly image. He asked me, 'Is Xiao Fen here?' Before I could agree, I saw Xiao Fen jump down from her bed in a flash, blushing and grabbing the young man's sleeve, a truly pathetic and heartbreaking sight. We all burst out laughing. Poor Xiao Fen, the shrew, had been subdued, and this was how we achieved a peaceful state.
According to my observation, this was the most serious girl in my female classmates. The young man had already gotten a job, and he loved Xiao Fen with the intention of getting married. They didn't have the petty squabbles and ruthless reversals of typical campus romances. Whenever they came to see Xiao Fen, they would walk with her, never letting us see them embracing passionately. This man was very considerate of the school rules, and whenever other girls' boyfriends came, they would stay overnight in the dormitory, making us all afraid to take off our clothes at night. He, however, almost won the respect of everyone.
Later, Xiao Fen became the first to get married, and he was her destined one. Years later, I heard that the mischievous and reckless Xiao Fen had made some mistakes in love, but when she was drunk, she would cry to us, 'I really do love my husband!'
She wasn't wrong about him; the mistakes she made were, after all, forgiven. The one who could subdue her was, of course, him. Farewell, Xiao Fen, elegant and composed.
It's wonderful to have someone destined for you, who waits for you in place while you go to different places, and has the ability to bring you back anytime.
