Self-discipline + Persistence # Methods for Self-Happiness
When I have free time, I often feel panicked, helpless, and don't know what to do. I've read a lot of books, but it doesn't soothe the turmoil in my heart.
This situation, I believe many readers will encounter. The question is, where does the problem lie?
Today, I'd like to talk about this situation simply.
1. Do the contents of the books you've read become your own? Knowledge needs input, but also output. Without the subsequent process, books are often just 'not books' – fleeting glimpses.
2. Is there a problem you've been wanting to solve in your life – work, love, friendship? These things will certainly influence your state. There won't be random frustration. It's either you're suppressing it, or your subconscious isn't prioritizing it.
3. Are you overly ambitious, without the drive to act? You always think too much, but you don't have a container big enough to hold your thoughts. This causes you to feel burdened, which is a shame.
4. The feeling of value is too low. Like how different people perceive the same dish – some find it too salty, others enjoy the richness. The same job, some people consider it trivial, while others find joy in it.
To face these disturbances that resonate with you, here's a solution:
1. When reading, always make notes – write down the sentences you like, admire the exquisite descriptions, and so on. After writing them down, say them out loud, even to yourself. Treat them as principles, explaining them to others if you like. This is your 'extra' feature for building your own knowledge. The biggest fear is just reading without speaking.
2. For any problem – work, love, friendship – write it down on paper and see if you can solve it on your own. If you can, formulate a solution repeatedly, looking for any loopholes or possibilities. If it's not your problem, wait. Time will change the situation, and you can reassess it. The biggest fear is not knowing where the problem lies.
3. When you don't know what to do, you're probably overthinking. Focus on one direction and block out other thoughts. Initially, determine whether it's about interest or earning money. If it's both, congratulations! Your life will be so wonderful. If not, start from the root and differentiate.
4. Satisfaction is influenced by your sense of value. Even when it's beneficial to yourself, you can easily gain satisfaction. Once you've done something, whether others care or not doesn't matter. Just saying it to yourself is enough. Satisfaction takes effect immediately. The biggest fear is looking down on the things you do.
These methods are life-summarized and shared, hoping they're helpful.
If you don't like reading, all your problems can be solved with reading. This article may not help you much.
