Do You Still Long for the Happiness of Childhood?
Do you still yearn for the happiness of childhood?
God-level
Adults are just like children when they were young, just like children have a childlike heart. As people grow older, they gradually hide their childlike hearts. If the joy of childhood has an expiration date, would you want a lifetime?
If possible, I hope the joy of childhood is a lifelong one. By 'childhood joy' I mean the freedom from responsibility, just playing and having fun, without working or toiling, just eating and enjoying the fruits of your labor. If possible, I always want to be that kid, eating when the time is right, playing when the holidays come, hiding from the moon, and not worrying about anything or taking on any responsibilities.
In fact, childhood is not always joyful; we yearn for childhood not for childhood itself, but for its innocence and simplicity. Many people's childhoods, especially Chinese childhoods, were also very hard. Perhaps at that time, academic pressure wasn't that great, because no matter how hard you tried, only a few people could get through. The degree places were too limited. But we had to participate in labor and earn work points. I also participated in collective labor when I was young and earned fewer work points than adults. Back then, only those who really worked hard and were sincere could step by step to higher grades in school and become civil servants. Most children just wanted to learn a few characters. Now, although there are more opportunities for education, the competition is more intense, and children are still very hardworking. If you want to be happy, you can only trade the harder future for it.
Different ages have different responsibilities, including our childhoods. Besides growing up, we also need to study hard and complete the schoolwork assigned by teachers. Many people yearn for childhood because they don't want to work hard for a living and bear so much responsibility. Our childhood joy is possible because our parents bear all this for us. When we grow up, we have to face all of this ourselves. This society's resources are limited, and resources are not distributed, only by working hard can you win them. If one day all the work and effort in society disappear, without having to work or to strive, simply being born as a human being, would you still yearn for childhood?
We all yearn for the joy of childhood, but we can't help but think that this is all caused by adults themselves, all brought about by the troubles and hardships we humans have created. We can also avoid such hardship by letting robots and smart devices produce for us and complete all the work, and then humans can enjoy and distribute all this. I believe this day will come, but not now. Our descendants will eventually get the joy and happiness we now yearn for in the time we can foresee.
