In the Adult World, There Are Many Sad and Unfortunate Times That One Must Endure Alone
I saw a story online.
A 34-year-old executive was laid off before the year-end. During the period of unemployment, she underwent surgery alone.
Two and a half months later, she found a new job, and her relatives and friends only found out about it.
After being laid off, she disappeared from everyone's sight for over two months. Life continued as before, but it became very quiet. She didn't participate in chats in the friend group, and there was no trace of her in her.
A friend asked her: 'When were you at your lowest, why didn't you tell them?'
She replied:I wanted to wait until I was feeling better before telling you all.
This answer struck me instantly.
Real sadness often comes silently and without notice; it doesn't immediately seek out others to confide in, nor does it involve sobbing.
It's precisely those unspoken sorrows that hold so much heartache.
We once discussed a topic with our friends: 'What's the feeling of breaking up with someone you still love?'
Most people don't cry and get drunk with their best friends like in a drama when they break up; instead, they choose to quietly digest it on their own, spending a difficult night alone, and recovering the next day, continuing to embrace tomorrow's sun.
After sorting out their mood, they would nonchalantly talk about it with others.
Is it because they weren't sad enough, or weren't difficult enough?
Not really.
They say life is just a series of ups and downs, but the sorrow in their hearts is only understood by themselves.
Often choosing to remain silent, they feel that simply speaking about it won't make things better.
Lu Xun said, 'Human's joys and sorrows are not necessarily the same.'
Those lows and sorrows may not be understood or empathized with by others.
Everyone has their own life, and they don't want to add to the burdens of those around them, nor do they want to spread their negative emotions.
So, those thoughts are kept within, allowing them to slowly process them.
Because we all know that adults have a lot of sadness in their lives. When life isn't going well, you mostly have to bear it yourself quietly.
