When practicing Taijiquan, it is best to sweat a little, so as to drain the pores, drain the meridians, and promote the circulation of blood and qi.

When practicing Taijiquan, the part that sweats indicates which part of the meridians is open. The pores of the sweat, evil gas discharge, toxins (such as lactic acid, urea, ammonia) are discharged. Practicing Taijiquan does not cause panting, which indicates that you have reached the aerobic state. As the practice progresses, the movements throughout the body become more coordinated, and the sweat becomes less sticky and less smelly.

Generally, whether Taijiquan causes sweating or not is related to the amount of exercise. For example, the length of time practiced, the height of the stance, and the rhythm arrangement all have an impact.

It is not advocated to sweat a lot when practicing Taijiquan. If you follow the standard, you should feel a slight warmth after finishing, and have a sense of transparency. If you still sweat a lot after practicing for many years, it may be because your body has a problem or you don't have the right method or skill. Different levels of practice will result in different sweating effects, and the amount, location, and smell of sweat will also be different.

First level

This is the stage of cultivating strength, and sweat is mainly on the large parts of the body, such as the neck, chest, arms, and legs, and at the sites of diseases, such as neck sweating if there is a cervical problem, and hand sweating if there is a wrist problem. This stage is about strengthening, breaking force, and suppressing force. If there is a cardiovascular disease, the sweat will have a smelly odor or even a gunpowder smell. If the kidneys are not good, the sweat will be sticky. If there is phlegm, the sweat will be sticky. If there is deficiency in the body, after finishing practice, you will sweat a lot for more than half an hour. If there is deficiency in the kidneys, the legs will sweat and become sticky, and you will not be able to lift your legs. People with unhealthy bodies cannot cross this stage, even Taijiquan masters, if they are unwell, they should sweat.

Second level

Sweating is mainly on the chest and back, and other parts sweat less. This level has stretched the muscles and bones, and the initial flexibility has begun. It has a light force, and the body is relatively healthy. At this stage, health is very good, and the feet and hands are full of blood, the palms and soles of the feet are hot. In this stage, if the practitioner has a teacher's guidance, he can develop in the direction of martial arts.

Third level

Sweating is mainly on the back, and other parts sweat less. This level is a senior level of health, the body is light, full of energy, sleep deeply and less, easy to sleep, no insomnia, in combat, it develops towards lightness.

Fourth level

The hands and feet sweat a lot, and other parts do not sweat. This is the highest level, and it is not possible to achieve this level by practicing more than ten thousand routines. To determine a person's level, you can see their sweat. The few hundred people who have achieved this level in hundreds of years are only a few hundred.

The ancients said: 'Hot success, cold get sick.' After practicing Taijiquan, the whole body sweats, and the body naturally warms up, which is a normal and inevitable phenomenon. After finishing practice, you should not use cold water or cold objects (do not touch cold water, stone, iron pipe, etc.) within an hour. If you suddenly get cold, it is easy to get sick. Practicing practitioners should avoid cold and keep warm.

After sweating, do not use cold water to wash, cold wind, but should know how to keep sweat. Sweating out, not to quickly drink a lot of water, should wait for the sweat to dry before drinking a small cup of half a cup to a cup.

The amount of water lost after sweating should be replenished. However, if you drink a lot of water immediately, it is easy to get sick. A better method is: before practicing Taijiquan in the morning, drink a glass of cool water prepared the night before to replenish the body lost water overnight; before practicing Taijiquan in the evening, also drink a cup of warm water, and after each practice, do not drink immediately after sweating, wait for the sweat to dry before drinking a small amount of half a cup to a cup.
