Delicious Summer Treats: Steamed Pumpkin with Ribs – A Simple and Flavorful Dish

A new way to eat ribs that's particularly delicious in the summer! Add ribs and a pumpkin, steam them on the stove, the ribs are tender and juicy, and nutritious and delicious. Every time I steam a plate, it's never enough to finish, and the last bit of sauce is always mixed with rice – it's so delicious!

The deliciousness of pumpkin is something many people have experienced. Whether it's pumpkin green bean soup or pumpkin fried rice, pumpkin desserts, pumpkin is so versatile, it can be used to braise and stir-fry, and it's not a problem for small desserts. Today I'm going to make a steamed pumpkin dish, which is even more delicious with the delicious ribs.

Ingredients needed: Pumpkin, ribs, scallions, salt, light soy sauce, and cornstarch – all to your liking.

Step 1: When buying the ribs, ask the vendor to cut them into small segments. Rinse them clean and put them in water, changing the water every 3 minutes to remove as much blood from the ribs as possible.

For clear-cooked ribs, it's not recommended to blanch them because once they've been boiled, the meat will become tough. After steaming, they won't be tender.

Step 2: Rinse the soaked ribs and drain off the water before adding appropriate amounts of salt, light soy sauce, and cornstarch, and marinate for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

Step 3: Peel and deseed the pumpkin, wash it thoroughly and cut it into small squares. Pumpkin is rich in polysaccharides, carotene, and pectin, and it's also inexpensive. When combined with ribs, it's even more nutritious.

Step 4: Place the cut pumpkin at the bottom of the dish, and arrange the ribs on top. You can also mix them together as you like.

Step 5: Place the dish in the steamer or oven at 110°C for 20 minutes. If you don't have a steamer oven, you can use a regular steamer, which will take about 15 minutes. Adjust the time according to the amount of ribs.

After taking it out, sprinkle with scallion flowers, it's particularly delicious to eat in the summer. Every time I steam a plate, it's never enough to finish, it's so delicious!

When it comes to summer, what is most commonly eaten is cold dishes. Whenever it's hot and stuffy in summer, people's appetites tend to decrease, especially when the weather is scorching hot, people are very irritable. Therefore, cold dishes are needed to invigorate the appetite and liberate the kitchen.

Prepare ingredients and seasonings: Dried bamboo shoots (soak dried bamboo shoots in cold water for 1 hour), cilantro 2 stems, scallions 2 stems, garlic 5 cloves, carrots 1/2, red chili oil, salt, sugar, white pepper, fragrance oil, rice vinegar, light soy sauce.

Step 1: First, cut the carrots into slices, tear the dried bamboo shoots into small pieces, smash and mince the garlic, chop the cilantro and scallions. Bring water to a boil in a pot and add the dried bamboo shoots. Cook for 3 minutes and drain. Cool the carrots down in 1 minute and drain.

Step 2: Place the soaked dried bamboo shoots and carrot slices in a large bowl, add cilantro (coriander), and combine all the seasonings to make a sauce, then pour the sauce over the dried bamboo shoots and mix well, then plate and serve.

There's nothing wrong with cold dishes; vegetables like carrots and cucumbers can be eaten raw. As long as the ingredients don't have any inherent incompatibility, they can be eaten together. If you like it, try it!
