I'd like to recommend a delicious Hainanese specialty snack – alkaline rice cake. The main ingredients are alkaline water and glutinous rice. Alkaline water is made by fermenting various wild plants, and it's mixed with glutinous rice to form a rice paste, which is then steamed in bamboo baskets.
