Dragonfish Head Sinking: It's Not What You Imagine
When raising dragonfish, if you find that the dragonfish has its head lower than its tail or its head lower than its tail, please mark that your dragonfish is prone to sinking.
Dragonfish sinking is mainly due to dysfunction of the swim bladder
Specific symptoms include a downward tilt of the head and an upward movement of the tail at 45 degrees.
Reasons:
1Stress imbalance during transportation
2Water temperature is too low
Sudden temperature changes, especially with large fluctuations, will certainly cause discomfort in dragonfish. A sudden drop in temperature can cause sudden sinking.
3Dragonfish frightens and violently swims into the tank
4When suffering from intestinal inflammation and ascites, they will also have sinking symptoms.
The last one is caused by congenital imbalance.
During the raising of dragonfish, if you find that the dragonfish is sinking, you must take timely and early measures to treat it
Dragonfish sinking should be classified according to the different reasons, and strengthening daily observation and care for dragonfish is the best way to prevent dragonfish from sinking. The main causes of dragonfish sinking are as follows:
One, if it is congenital or caused by low temperature leading to dysfunction of the swim bladder and appearing sinking
Prevention: try to avoid sudden and large fluctuations in water temperature in daily breeding. Reduce the dragonfish's fright and avoid the dragonfish's swim bladder problem due to collisions with the tank
Treatment: The possibility of recovery in this situation is not great, physical fixing methods can only play a role for a period of time.
Two, if it is a decrease in movement and appears sinking
Prevention: During breeding, allow dragonfish to move appropriately, such as using food to lure it, increasing the wave pump in the tank, etc., to promote an increase in dragonfish's movement.
Treatment: Use food to lure it, provide dragonfish with a wider living environment, increase the wave pump in the tank and rationally control the on-off time.

Three, if it is ascites and appears sinking
Prevention: The main reason for ascites causing dragonfish to sink is that when feeding, the bait is not hygienic or the food cannot be digested by the dragonfish. Therefore, before feeding, you should pay attention to the hygiene of the dragonfish's food and remove parts of the food that may harm the dragonfish, such as shrimp swords that can harm the dragonfish.
Treatment: When the condition is not very serious, you can use the three old methods to treat it; if the condition is serious, you need to inject the dragonfish's abdominal fluid with a clean syringe.
Four, if it is poor water quality and appears sinking
Prevention: In daily breeding, provide dragonfish with a good living environment, and before changing the water, trap the water to avoid excessive accumulation of ammonia nitrogen and causing the dragonfish to sink.
Treatment: Find the problem by checking the water quality and improve the water quality by small amounts and frequently changing the water. Be careful to avoid sudden changes in water temperature, pH value, etc.
