Horned Viper: The Venomous Snake with Dragon-Like Horns – Do You Know About It?
The horned viper, a venomous snake with dragon-like horns, do you know about it? The horned viper is a relatively inconspicuous snake, generally 40-70 cm in length, and the largest does not exceed 108 cm. They have a flat head, and the most peculiar thing is that their heads have a pair of scales that form a high ridge, just like they have a pair of horns! Snake enthusiasts exclaimed, could this be the legendary true dragon?

The horned viper belongs to the genus of vipers, which is a monotypic venomous snake genus under the suborder of snakes and the suborder of vipers. The genus only contains one species, the horned viper. The horned viper is mainly distributed in the Middle East to Pakistan, not including the African continent. The name 'horned viper' refers to the fact that this viper has 'false horns', because the scales on both eyes have a number of scales that resemble peaks like horns, forming a prominent appearance. These horns are not the same as the 'true horns' structure of the horned viper, but they are very similar in appearance, hence the name. Currently, two subspecies of the horned viper have been confirmed.

The horned viper is not a species in China. It is distributed in the Sinai Peninsula, including Egypt, Israel, Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia, Oman mountains, as well as northern and northwestern Iraq, and may also be found in southern Syria, southeastern Turkey, northwestern Azerbaijan and Iran and Pakistan. Its standard origin is 'Persia'.
The horned viper is a venomous snake, with venom and vipers similar. If bitten, it has hemorrhagic symptoms, and other viper serums can be used to alleviate symptoms. However, so far there is no specific serum produced for horned viper snake venom.

The horned viper moves quite slowly and can move in various snake-like ways. They are more active at night, and you will only see them out in the daytime in cold seasons. They are not fierce in nature, but they will make hissing sounds to intimidate opponents when disturbed. Unlike the horned viper, they cannot specialize in pressing their bodies into the sand.
