Jinjiang River District Develops Longjiang Riverbank Lotus Scenic Area
In La'ertun Village, Jinjiang River District, Xifeng City, Guangxi, local residents are busy planting lotus roots. The district utilizes the Longjiang Gallery to construct a rural tourism and agricultural sightseeing project, creating a contiguous lotus flower scenic area combining leisure tourism and aquaculture.
This project is one of the Longjiang Hundred Miles Tourism Agricultural Projects in Jinjiang River District. The scenic area is only 10 kilometers from the river city, and under the guidance of the government, a wealthy local resident took the lead in establishing a professional cooperative, mobilizing residents to lease land and invest in 340 acres. Through the revitalization of collective economic assets and the integration of collective funds from poor villages totaling 1.5 million yuan, the project built supporting infrastructure such as industrial roads, irrigation canals, and drainage channels. The project started on February 29th and plans to build multiple functional areas including a lotus root and fish aquaculture tourism area, a seasonal flower planting tourism area, a fresh fruit and vegetable picking area, and a product sales area. The lotus root and fish aquaculture area covers 180 acres, and after harvest, it will produce lotus seeds and Weihua carp, with an expected increase of more than 2000 yuan per acre; other functional areas will develop agricultural tourism and sightseeing, benefiting investors and impoverished households, achieving income sharing and collective industrial and rural prosperity.
The cooperative leader told reporters that the lotus flowers are expected to be completely planted by the end of March, with Weihua carp released in June, and lotus flowers will bloom in August, at which time the scenic area will become a new highlight of the Longjiang Hundred Miles Tourist Strip.
