Wuhui City Tourism: Lei Tai (Leitai)

Leitai is located north of the urban area of Wuhui City, and is Wuhui City's most famous tourist destination, with the famous Lei Temple Han Tomb located here. The Lei Temple Han Tomb is the tomb of 'Shouzhang of Zhaxian' during the Han Dynasty; the tomb owner was essentially a regional commander for the Han Dynasty. The Han tomb is famous throughout the world because it unearthed China's tourism landmark – also the Gannan Province Museum's famous treasure – the terracotta horse statue of 'Mata Fiyen'. In addition, 231 kinds of vessels and numerous coins were unearthed from the tomb, earning it the reputation of a 'subterranean museum'.

The Leitai scenic area has a good environment, with a large square in the center, which is the landmark of Wuhui City – the terracotta horse (aka Mata Fiyen). There are also many bronze chariots and horses on one side, which are very spectacular for taking photos. Inside the square, there is a temple - Lei Tai Guan, which is adjacent to the Han Tomb, and can be visited.

After entering the Lei Temple Han Tomb, you can see the original burial arrangements of the Han Dynasty tombs, including tombs, passageways, and many explanatory texts to help you understand. However, it is worth noting that the precious artifacts unearthed from the tomb have been transported to the museum, and the famous terracotta horse statue of 'Mata Fiyen' is now collected in the Gansu Provincial Museum in Lanzhou.
