Come to Gulangyu Island – Offers Never End

Fujian Daily APP-Xin Fu Jinhua reported on March 28th (Fujian Daily reporter Shishi Jing Lin Ze Gui) Since March 6th, the reopening, Xiamen Gulangyu’s tourism market has returned safely and orderly. As of March 27th, approximately 30,000 tourists have visited the island. 74 hotels on the island have reopened, and the main source destinations are within the province, Guangdong, Henan, Zhejiang, and Heilongjiang. Many local citizens also went to the island to breathe fresh air and enjoy the spring scenery.

Many couples are taking advantage of the few tourists to take wedding photos on the island.
After the resumption of operations, Gulangyu strictly limited the total number of tourists on the island, no more than 50% of the maximum load capacity per day, and the total number of passengers on each ship did not exceed 50% of the original maximum passenger capacity. Team tourists were limited to no more than 30 people, and flight intervals were dynamically adjusted according to passenger flow to promptly disperse passengers. A total of 12 temperature detection points were set up across the entire island (including the island’s boarding pier), and tourists provided health codes, temperature checks, and wore masks before entering attractions, and underwent temperature checks and mask checks again upon entry.

Recently, Gulangyu has launched a series of promotional activities to attract tourists. For foreign tourists, Xiamen Ferry Company sent out 100,000 ship tickets, with every group of 4 scatter customers receiving a ticket exchange coupon that can be used twice before the end of this year; for residents with Xiamen ID cards or social security cards, the three core scenic areas of Gulangyu - Nianguan Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, and Yuehua Garden - offer limited-time discounts of up to 40% from March 18th to June 30th.

In addition to free access to scenic areas for medical personnel, dozens of businesses on Gulangyu have teamed up to launch the ‘Free Leisure Service’, providing free accommodation and thousands of catering consumption vouchers and gifts to medical personnel and their families. The service is expected to launch from June 1st and continue until the end of the year, and more businesses will join the plan.
