31 Parks to Be Built in Xi'an's District This Year
On March 8th, a central park is being built in full swing in the central area of Chang'an District, Xi'an.
The park, north to south, is about 3 kilometers long and about 100 meters wide on average, with a total land area of about 400 acres. It belongs to urban planning green space. The park is connected through river and lake water systems, integrating water ecological landscape, historical culture display, and people's fitness, and will become a north-south ecological green axis in the center of Chang'an District after completion.
According to relevant officials of Chang'an District Water Affairs Bureau, the park is named Chang'an Central Park. It is a key project for Chang'an District to enhance the quality of the city. It is also an important water ecological restoration project in the downstream of Zhaigang River. The total investment is expected to be 400 million yuan, and the entire park north, middle, and south segments are planned to be completed and opened to the public in September 2020.
Including Chang'an Central Park, Chang'an District will this year build 31 standard-level urban parks, and all of them will be completed within this year.
At the construction site of Chang'an Central Park, reporters saw the main lake area in the north section, ecological embankment, pedestrian path, bridge, and supporting facilities, which were all completed; the Zhaigang River replenishment pipe line was fully connected, and the 40-acre main lake area in the north section of Zhaigang River completed the filling task; large trees were planted, and other greening such as shrubs and grass are gradually being perfected. The main lake area in the north section of Chang'an Central Park is expected to open by mid-March.
In recent years, Chang'an District has taken the construction of a national central city as a starting point and vigorously improved the quality of urban parks.
Since 2019, the 31 urban parks planned by Chang'an District have been fully launched. Of these, Changqing Park and Fanshan Park have been open to the public, and the 10-kilometer Zhaigang River ecological long corridor has preliminarily formed. 256,000 new plants were added, and 812 landscape leisure squares were constructed…
