Most of the attractions in Shijiazhuang are located in the county-level city, which is a bit far to visit.
As someone who has lived in Shijiazhuang all my life, Shijiazhuang really has nothing to offer. It's basically just shopping districts, and most attractions are in county-level cities, which are quite far. The city center is closer: Shopping malls: Beiguo Mall, Letai Center (with ice skating on the 5th floor), Wanjia Square (recently built in the past year), New Century Department Store (on a single street), Old Railway Station Liberation Square Minzu Road, there's a memorial, and there are many remnants from the old era nearby, but they've been preserved and neglected.
Nan San Tou, has been open for many years and is now not as good as before: Haiyue Tianqi Park + Chang'an Park + People's Square (two parks connected together), Ping'an Park (not very big, it's enough to take a stroll at night, and it's actually quite crowded at night), Minxin Square, Children's Activity Center, Around the Second Ring Road: Water Park, Sky Garden, Yuxi Park, When it used to be an animal park, it was really fun. As a childhood memory.
Taiping River Park, Friendship Park, Century Park (garden) plus Shijiazhuang TV Tower, Tienshanhai World (swimming all year round) etc., there are many parks, you can find them on the map, and then there are the county-level cities. I'll share the places I've been that are fun, Ping Shan (has a ski resort), Zhengding (has temple fairs and flower lanterns during festivals), Weizhuang Stream (ice waterfall), West Longqing, Shijiazhuang Animal Park and Botanical Garden, Garden Expo Park, Baolu Village, Tu Liang. It's really fun to climb in summer, it's cool.
Zhouzhao Bridge, Xibeipo etc. I'll add more on the map later, there are also some other places I haven't had time to go to, Wu Yue Zhai is also quite good. It's amazing that you can come to Shijiazhuang to travel, I really admire it. I think besides Taiyuan, no provincial city is as boring as Shijiazhuang. Even cities like Suzhou, Wuxi, Ningbo, Shaoxing, and Zhoushan, where's not fun? Wuhan, Nanjing, Xi'an, Hohhot are even worse. Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Shenyang are better than Shijiazhuang. The provincial museums within Hebei Province, and if you're going for a museum visit, Beijing is a must-go.
Places like Xi'an, Nanjing, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu have amazing provincial museums. The food in Shijiazhuang isn't very distinctive. It's not by the sea, not near the south, not a minority settlement, and not a place where you mainly eat noodles and rice. If you like to eat buns, it's passable here. The beef and lamb aren't good, not as good as Hohhot's lamb. Shijiazhuang is just convenient for transportation, it's a main hub for flights to Hohhot, Wuxi, Guiyang, Shenyang, Xiamen etc. It's also very convenient to go to Wuhan and Beijing by high-speed train, you can go out to play. But when you're a foreigner, it's a fleeting visit, you might find it quite fun here occasionally.
