Wuyuan Ancient Charm: Brick Walls and Gray Tiles in Mountain Villages
The autumn wind, arriving in the mountain valleys, brought with it a hint of chill.
When the mountains are bright and the water is clear, frost appears on the trees; when the trees are deep red, some are pale yellow. From the beginning, autumn frost appeared in the mountains and forests. and maple trees were gradually changing from green to autumn colors. The golden wind blew, causing leaves to rustle across the mountains. The red maple leaves swayed in the wind, creating a beautiful and graceful scene, sometimes falling like flickering flames. This added a touch of colorful warmth to the autumn landscape of the mountains.
Looking into the distance, the mountains were covered in red, and the trees were dyed with color, combined with the white walls and gray tiles, creating a vast and profound landscape. Although it was not as soft as the Jiangnan water towns, nor as magnificent as the ancient cities of Shanxi, it perfectly captured the unique charm of the people.
Ancient Village was built on the mountainside. Because of the steep and dangerous terrain, it looked like it was hanging on the cliff when viewed from a distance. The reason why the ancestors chose to settle here is unknown, but the well-arranged building group on the slope is a testament to the imagination and creativity of the ancestors.
If gray and white are the main colors of the village, then the countless horse-head walls have shaped the appearance of the village. Looking out, the horse-head walls are arranged in an orderly manner on the hillside, making the village look well-arranged and creates distinct layers in space. By carefully examining each house, you can see that they have curved eaves, leaning pillars, and connected roofs, creating a sense of unity. The houses are connected and inseparable.
Space seems to be created in these bricks and tiles. Each unit within the whole has its own small world.
Walking along the old street and ancient alleys, you can see curved eaves and towering trees at every turn. Every small space you look up at can be a scenic view in itself. Occasionally, you see groups of people walking along, either three or two, enjoying the company. They climbed step by step, wandering through the ancient village, appreciating the beautiful scenery, and sometimes admiring it with a glance, sometimes looking up and praising it.
Looking out at the mountain scenery, the mountains and rivers are beautiful and magnificent. But when you stand under a tree, even touching the leaves and fruits, you feel a touch of rural charm. Picking up a red leaf and placing it in a travel notebook, you've recorded this beauty, and no more fancy words are needed.

Entering the autumn, it became a world of bamboo screens. Every household, with bamboo screens extending from the front of their houses, displayed various agricultural products such as peppers, pumpkins, and soybeans, which were harvested from their own fields. Taking advantage of the pleasant weather, they were dried and preserved for the winter. This is also a seasoning for the next year's life.
