Gold Sand Village – Cizheng, Ningbo
Gold Sand Village is located in the northwestern part of Cizheng County, Ningbo, with the east bank of the Zhulin River, west adjacent to Yuo, and north adjacent to Cixie. It is a mountainous village surrounded by three sides, with residents of Ye, Chen, Zhu, Cao, and Wang surnames. Among them, the Ye surname is the largest family in the village. The entire ancient village is mountainous and water-surrounded, with beautiful scenery. There are “Ten Ancient Roads of Ningbo” in the village, such as Peach Blossom Ridge – Tongtian Ridge Ancient Road, Chen Hu Ridge Ancient Road, which are an important part of the “Hundred Miles Leisure Greenway” of Ningbo North Mountain ( “Hundred Miles Leisure Greenway” ). There are also numerous “Cultural Relics Protection Points” in the village, and the Gold Sand Pit Battle Site: On February 16, 1944, the commanders of the new Fourth Army’s Zhejiang East Guerrilla Commandos, He Ke Xi, Tan Qilong, and Political Commissar Zhang Wenbi, along with the political department director, transferred to Gold Sand Pit with their garrison headquarters, three teams, and teaching squads, numbering nearly a thousand fighters. They were attacked by Japanese and puppet forces, and the Zhejiang East Guerrilla Commandos fought bravely for four or five hours, blocking the enemy's offensive, and protected the commanders and the garrison headquarters for a safe transfer to the North Three Area Base.
Guan Yue Temple (Jiang’an District Level Cultural Relics Protection Point) is located in Gold Sand Yangjia Men Head, with the existing building facing north and south, divided into two floors, consisting of the front hall and the back hall, with two on the east and west. The front hall is five bays, with a Hard Slope roof and a flat house, with the north bay having a door with a column, the back hall is five bays, with a Hard Slope roof and a High Flat roof.
The inscription on the front door of Guan Yue Temple is in regular script: ‘Guan Yue Temple’
‘Jingxing’ is inscribed on the east bay, and ‘Qingyun’ is inscribed on the west bay.
Chen Family Hall (Jiang’an District Level Cultural Relics Protection Point) is located on the west side of Yangjia Men Head in Gold Sand Village, which is the Chen Family Hall. The existing building faces north and south, divided into two floors, with an area of about 720 square meters, with two on the east and west.
The front bay is five bays with a Hard Slope roof and a High Flat roof, with five columns and seven ridges, the northern bay has a door facing north, and the southern bay has a door facing north.
The inscription on the door of Chen Family Hall is ‘Zhe Dong Bao Zheng’
Ye Family Mansion (Jiang’an District Level Cultural Relics Protection Point) is located in the Shangxin New House Nature Village of Gold Sand Village, which is the main residence area of the Ye Family, the largest family surname in the village. The existing building is in Qing Dynasty style, built along the mountains, with a north-south layout consisting of a main gate, a hall, and east and west, covering an area of about 1430 square meters.
The main gate faces east and is a stone framework double-door.
In front of the old hall of Ye Family Mansion, the hall is three bays with a High Flat roof, and the mountain wall body is high, with four horse heads carved on the east side (partially destroyed), a Hard Slope double-roofed house, with a porch facing forward, and the west has been modified.
The eight bays of the east and west are Hard Slope double-roofed houses, with a porch facing forward.

Slot Mill Site (Jiang’an District Level Cultural Relics Protection Point) is located on the south side of the Gold Sand Pit Nature Village, with an outer diameter of 5.55 meters and an inner diameter of 4.43 meters, with a depth of 0.24 meters. It is made of local green stone, consisting of 12 arcuate mill slots connected together. There is a complete stone mill abandoned inside the north side of the slot, with a “biscuit” shape, with a diameter of 1.55 meters and a square hole in the middle, with a side length of 0.135 meters. The slot mill was built in the Qing Dynasty and was used to grind rice grain.
