Nest Lake City is a county-level city in Anhui Province. The ancient Nest Lake was formerly known as South Nest Lake, as it was established as Nest County during the Qin Dynasty. It was established as Nest Lake City in 2011, and it is a city named after the lake.

If you are traveling to Nest Lake, Meiyuan-La Mountain Island is a must-visit destination, known as ‘the first scenic spot in Lake Sky’. Meiyuan-La Mountain Island, also known as Ziwu Temple and La Mountain Island Scenic Area, are very close to each other. The scenic area sells tickets separately. The ticket price for Ziwu Temple is 10 yuan, and the ticket price for La Mountain Island is 60 yuan (including boat ticket).
Ziwu Temple, located not far from Ziwu Temple, was built during the Yuan Dynasty, with a history of over 700 years. Ziwu Temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. There is a three-story pavilion in the temple, and you can enjoy the beautiful eight hundred miles of Nest Lake scenery from it. Therefore, it is known as ‘the first scenic spot in Lake Sky’.
Not far from Ziwu Temple is the pier for reaching La Mountain Island. La Mountain Island is less famous than other lake islands, possibly because it is small or its scenery is not unique, resulting in few tourists visiting. However, La Mountain Island is the largest island in Nest Lake and the only lake island in Nest Lake. It is a lush green oasis.
There is a lakeside greenway built on La Mountain Island, which is basically flat along the way. If you want to go to the highest point of the island, Ziwu Temple, you need to climb a section of mountain road. The stone steps are gentle, which is very suitable for leisure and vacation tourism.
La Mountain Island is the only ‘lake green oasis’ in Nest Lake. The vegetation coverage rate is as high as over 80%, and the main plants on the island include bamboo, fir, pine, chestnut, pomegranate, and tea gardens. It is a truly prosperous island, and the environment is very quiet. It is most suitable for tourism in summer.
