Shuangshang Qijin NewsYungong Town, Fuyuan County is located in the southeast of Fuyuan County, 32 kilometers from the county seat, with a total area of 152.3 square kilometers. It borders Dahuate Town to the north, south borders Zhuyuan Town, west borders Moxing Town, and east borders Fucun Town and Guizhou Panan County’s Leming Town, bordering each other for a total length of 130 kilometers, with the Fuxing Highway, a major economic artery, passing through 7 townships (streets). Yungong Town is located in the central area, radiating a radius of about 50 kilometers, serving a population of more than 600,000 people. Since ancient times, it has been known as ‘one bamboo pole carrying two baskets,’ having historically been Fuyuan’s sub-regional economic center and a desirable place to settle and belong to. A local saying is: ‘You can reach the county seat, but you cannot reach Yungong Town.’
Yungong Town has 16 village (residential area) committees and 136 natural villages and 144 village (residential area) groups, with a total population of more than 83,000 people, encompassing 17 party branches and 164 party organizations. The climate is pleasant, with winter without severe cold and summer without scorching heat, with an average altitude of 1785 meters. The local area boasts characteristic agricultural products such as speed-assist yellow pear, Hai Ga Li Zi (sea-grass pear), and Hapo Tu Honey (broadcast soil honey). The built-up area in the town center is 4.1 square kilometers. The town center features Yungong Town Culture Square, Longfeng Park, Yungong Town People’s School, Fuyuan County Fourth Middle School, Culture Wall, the extended Dongning Street Sakura Road, and the Temple of Repayment. Accompanied by peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, pear blossoms, and plum blossoms, they stand tall and flourish. In recent years, it has been named: ‘Provincial Civilized Small Town,’ ‘Yunnan Province Sports Culture Advanced Township,’ ‘Municipal Civilized Small Town,’ ‘County Civilized Township,’ and ‘Rural Clean-up Engineering Demonstration Township.’
