Spring in Northern Mountain Valleys: Golden Rapeseed Flowers and a Touch of Jiangnan
Staying home and watching the world, focusing on: Streetlamp Photography, sharing beautiful scenery from travels daily. In March in northern China, the plum blossoms are in full bloom. Peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, cherry blossoms, and rapeseed flowers are blooming, attracting people to wander through the flower fields every weekend. To experience the most beautiful spring in the north, I drove to explore around Shijiazhuang and made a surprising discovery.
Right at the junction of Luquan District and Yuanshi County in Shijiazhuang, a rapeseed field immediately caught my eye.
This rapeseed field wasn't very large, but the flowers were in full bloom, glistening golden and very beautiful. There were a few tourists coming to admire it, taking pictures around the field.
An elderly gentleman told me that in the past, the area of this rapeseed field was much larger, with surrounding fields full of it, and they even held a rapeseed flower festival. He came here every year to take a look, and this year, for some reason, there weren't as many rapeseed flowers, but for people who had been staying home and watching the world for a long time, it was a surprise nonetheless.
Leaving Changhe Village, I drove to the vicinity of Fenglong Mountain, which also has a larger rapeseed field. When I got close, I immersed myself in the flower sea, the delicate fragrance of the rapeseed flowers permeated my senses, attracting bees to shuttle among the blossoms, captivating me. This golden flower sea is truly dreamlike.
Not only rapeseed flowers, but there are also many February orchids here, truly beautiful.
