You can take a bus directly from Rome to Siena, Flixbus can buy tickets. The bus stops at 4 stations in total, please get off at Siena viale Toselli station, which is right in front of the old city gate.
You need to transfer to take the train, and the train station is in the city center, which is far from the old city, so it is not recommended.
Siena - Florence
There are many bus departures from Siena to Florence, we bought tickets at the bus station, we couldn't find the ticket purchase route online, basically don't need to buy tickets in advance. Please note that the bus station is right in front of the old city, but the ticket office is in the underground passage.
