Xi'an is Amazing! Two Landmark Ancient Buildings are Free for a Limited Time – Have You Been?

If you were to nominate Xi'an's landmark buildings, what would you choose? The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Xi'an City Wall, or the Xi'an Bell and Drum Towers? These famous attractions are undoubtedly Xi'an's city symbols.
Today (March 25th), Xi'an tourism has brought another good news, that is,Two landmark ancient buildings—the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower are now free for nationwide tourists for a limited time.

Travel enthusiasts might find that many ancient capitals in China, such as Beijing, Kaifeng, and Nanjing, also have Bell and Drum Towers. The Bell and Drum Towers are a group of traditional Chinese buildings, originally used for timekeeping.
According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 30 Bell and Drum Towers still preserved across China, most of which were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Inall Chinese Bell and Drum Tower buildings, the largest in terms of form, the best preserved, and the most exquisite in architecture, are the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower in Xi'an.
However, the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, located in the center of the city, have guarded Xi'an for 600 years. But many Xi'an residents probably haven't actually visited them. Taking advantage of this free opportunity, why not go to see these famous historical sites.
The Bell and Drum Towers'free time starts today (March 25th) and continues until May 31st.This free access is open to all nationwide tourists (ps. the free access for all nationwide medical personnel is extended until December 31st), requiring personal online registration for free visits.

The Xi'an Bell Tower was built in the 17th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1384), and the Xi'an Drum Tower was built in the 13th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1380). The two 'brothers' stand side by side across Drum Tower Square, becoming one of the most beautiful scenes in Xi'an.

It's worth mentioning that everyone knows that the Xi'an Bell Tower is at the intersection of the East, West, South, and North Roads, which is the absolute center of the city. In fact, it was originally built at the entrance of Guangji Street.
In the 15th year of the Wanli reign (1582), the Xi'an Ming City Wall was expanded, and it was then relocated to its current location. Since then, it has always been in 'C position', overlooking this millennium ancient capital.
Old Xi'an residents have countless times looked up at the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, and it was still possible to walk through the gates of the Drum Tower to the North Courtyard Gate of Beilin Street before.
