China Tourism Research Institute: 600.6 Million Domestic Tourists in 2019
CCTV News:The China Tourism Research Institute released the 'Basic Situation of National Tourism Market in 2019' yesterday (10th). Overall, domestic and outbound tourism markets maintained steady growth. The total number of domestic tourists reached 600.6 billion, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period last year. The total tourism revenue reached 663 billion yuan, an increase of 11%.
In addition, the number of Chinese citizens traveling abroad reached 155 million, an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period last year. International tourism revenue was US$131.3 billion, an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period last year. The number of inbound tourists was 145 million, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period last year. Among the inbound foreign tourists, Asia accounted for 75.9%, and Europe accounted for 13.2%.
