Handan, Hebei: Camellias Blossom, a Beautiful Spring; Ecological Restoration Adds New Scenery

CCTV News:What you see now is the ten-thousand-acre ecological forest located in Fenfen Mining Area, Yijing Town, Handan, Hebei Province. Since the beginning of March, various species of camellia trees here have gradually begun to bloom, with red like clouds, white like snow, green-shrinking-red, and multi-colored, creating a vibrant spectacle. All kinds of camellia trees sway gracefully in the spring sunshine, with a fragrant and breathtaking beauty. This beautiful scenery has also attracted nearby villagers and tourists, who linger under the camellia trees, embracing the spring in the garden.

Fenfen Mining Area was once an old industrial mine area that had been mined for many years, leaving behind small and large wastelands. In recent years, local authorities have implemented ecological restoration projects, adding over 50,000 acres of greening area each year, transforming the mountains from mining sites into scenic areas, forming a unique landscape of 'green in spring, flowering in summer, fruiting in autumn, and evergreen in winter'.
