Lushan, Sichuan: The Beautiful Spring Colors of the Lake District Enchant Tourists; Tea Gardens Like Earth's Fingerprints

March 10, 2020, Lushan. The tea gardens in Lushan Phoenix Lake Scenic Area entered the early tea picking season, and the tea farmers were busy harvesting tea, becoming a beautiful spring color in Phoenix Lake Scenic Area.

Phoenix Lake Scenic Area is located 15 kilometers west of Naxi Town, Lushan; it is located on the banks of the Yangtze River, with garden-like scenery, beautiful lake waters, ancient sites and legends, and charming scenery; it is a scenic tourist area integrating lake views, mountains, canyons, strange rocks and cliffs, waterfalls and caves, bamboo seas and forests, and classical gardens dating back a hundred years.

Phoenix Lake is located on the Nixi River and is known as the 'Pearl of Western Shu' Phoenix Lake, it is the largest 'natural oxygen bar' in Southern Sichuan, with a forest coverage rate of 89%, and is Lushan's water source reserve; it has a water surface area of 157000 square meters and a storage capacity of 154 million cubic meters. The lake is 9358 meters long (main channel), with more than 10 islands, the lake curves nine times and eighteen bends, formed by 48 Han River tributaries, and is one of the first-class tributaries of the Yangtze River, as well as an important water source conservation and replenishment area.

As early as March 12, 2016, the Naxi District Phoenix Lake Wetland Park Management Committee was established and certified, and Phoenix Lake Wetland Park became Lushan's first national-level wetland park.
