Oldest City in Myanmar (Mandalay), Extremely Beautiful Design, Now a Popular Tourist Check-in Spot
The map of Myanmar is beautiful, looking straight at it resembles a diamond, and looking from the side is like a wide-open peacock. And the Myanmar that exists on the ground is a fascinating land to observe up close, and a 'mysterious' country when viewed from afar. Whether close or far, it continues to astonish and linger in one's memory.
As a tourist, to deeply understand Myanmar, there are two places that cannot be missed: one is Bagan, and the other is Mandalay. If Bagan is 'City of a Thousand Pagodas', then Mandalay is 'Ancient Capital'. Mandalay and the surrounding area within tens of kilometers including Sagaing, Inwa, Amarapura were all ancient capitals of the Kingdom of Myanmar, preserving a large number of Myanmar-style pagodas and ancient buildings. Walking through them is like walking through Myanmar's segments of history.
Among the four ancient cities in Mandalay, Inwa is the most famous, and Maha Aungmye Temple is the most beautiful of them. It's a popular destination for both locals and tourists who come to pay homage every day. Unlike many Myanmar temples that are mostly golden and white, Maha Aungmye Temple's exterior is pale yellow, and the interior is white, especially under the sunshine, as if shimmering with golden light.
On a clear day, walking through the temple, the roof is shadowy and indistinct in changing light, at that moment, human faith and historical architecture shine together, and a magical feeling of culture emerges inexplicably.
While walking in Myanmar, it brings out a contrary feeling – it's not the magnificent temples and grand pagodas that are beautiful, nor the exquisite Buddhist towers, but the devout monks, the villagers with good wishes, the tourists measuring the beauty on bicycles, and the coachmen soliciting passengers with carts...
Inwa was once the capital of Myanmar for four centuries, time rolls on, leaving not just memories, but the beauty of Myanmar is the most genuine people on this land. (Welcome you to like and comment in the comments, more wonderful content, please follow/)
