As the New Year approaches, red lanterns hang all over Longtanba Street, rows of lanterns swaying in the wind, resembling a long dragon soaring into the sky, adorning the street with a festive atmosphere. Red lanterns are also hung on houses, adding to the joyous scene amidst the small and large red lanterns.
"I went to Longtanba to experience the market, and I saw many red lanterns, which made the atmosphere even more festive!" A passerby said.
Hanging red lanterns during the New Year is a traditional Chinese custom, symbolizing family reunion, thriving business, and a prosperous future. To welcome the arrival of the Spring Festival, the people of Longtanba spontaneously raised funds to purchase these red lanterns and beautify the street.
